How to become a volunteer at the nativity:
Volunteering at the nativity can be very rewarding and we are always looking for great volunteers. Each night, a “captain” lines up 60 volunteers to staff the event. Captains must be reliable, commit to finding the necessary volunteers, and monitor the volunteers during the shift. Captains are some of our most important volunteers! Captains usually serve for several years. If you want to be involved as a serious volunteer and think you have what it takes to be a captain, you must have at least one year experience of being a volunteer in the nativity. If you simply want to volunteer for one night, you must be 18 years or older or come with your parents. Being a volunteer is a big commitment, serious volunteers only please!
Guidelines for volunteers:
- Must be at the nativity that night from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
- Dress appropriately for the weather (layers for warmth!)
- Families are ideal. Parents are responsible to monitor their own children. Really young children usually have a difficult time, children age 8 and older
- Sorry, no youth groups
